The KVHS Blue Knights complete the sweep the regular season series with the Sussex Sonics with a 100-73 road victory.
Sussex, playing without two key starters, jumped all over the visitors in the first quarter, winning the frame 28-21. The Blue Knight were unfazed however, and went on to win each of the final three quarters 24-12, 25-10, and 29-23.
Leaders for the KVHS were:
- Liam McKee with 31 points (21 in the 2nd half)
- Owen Arbeau with 11 points
- Koichi Sahara with 11 points
Leaders for Sussex Were:
- Jaxson Wark with 21 points
- George Walker with 19 points
The win keeps KVHS in the hunt for first place as they move to 9-1 in league play, 17-8 overall. Rothesay remains in first place at 10-1.
KVHS Player of the Game
Throughout the first half KVHS struggled to find their offensive rhythm for any sustained stretch of time and therefore were unable to make any separation from Sussex. To start the 2nd quarter Liam McKee single-handedly fixed all that by scoring 11 of the teams first 13 points including three straight 3 pointers. His scoring outburst pushed the Blue Knight’s lead to double digits and Sussex never was able to threaten again.
