The KVHS Crusaders varsity boys got an early Christmas present as they discovered their offensive rhythm for the first time this season putting up 29 points in the opening quarter against the visiting Rothesay High Red Hawks. The Crusaders kept the offense flowing over the next two quarters building the lead to 51-23 at halftime and 69-33 after 30 minutes. The Red Hawks did not go quietly however as they started pounding the Crusaders on the glass to win the 4th quarter 17-12 for a final score of 81-50 for KVHS.
Leaders for the Crusaders were:
- Gavin Trites with 27 points, 9 rebounds and 6 steals
- Ryan Pollard with 12 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists

The Crusaders will take the next few days off to enjoy the Holiday season and to rehab some nagging injuries. Unfortunately the annual alumni game, which is played every December 26, is cancelled this season for only the 2nd time since it began in 1978.
Following the break KVHS will play a pair of exhibition games against Sussex on December 30 in the Sonic Dome and January 2., 2021 in the Valley.
