In a must-win game for the Crusaders, the home team put together one of their most complete games of the season by defeating Rothesay High Redhawks 87-75.
It was senior night at KVHS but it was two underclassmen that stole the spotlight. For the third straight game, Brady Soucy came out firing from deep, hitting three 3-pointers in the first quarter. His backcourt teammate, Keegan Miller, joined the party, hitting two of his own, giving KVHS a 19-14 advantage at the end of the 1st quarter.
In the 2nd quarter, Rothesay was able to cool off the Crusaders’ perimeter shooters but that opened the middle for Colin Loughery who scored 13 points in the quarter which help extend the home team’s lead to 41-31 at the half.

The Crusaders finish the regular season with an 8-4 record. They now wait to see if they qualify for post-season play. Crusaders need Harbour View to lose their remaining game in order to qualify.
Thursday was just another typical night for the Crusader’s blue-collar star. Twenty points. Twenty rebounds. Throw in a few assists, a couple of key three-pointers, and of course, a rebound that brings the Crusaders bench to their feet, saying “I’m glad he’s on my team”.
Colin Loughery finishes his career with 1103 points (14th all-time), 1075 rebounds (1st all-time) making him the only player in school history with 1000 points and 1000 rebounds. He also has 217 assists (3rd all-time), holds the top three spots for rebounds per game for a single season, and the record for most rebounds in a single season (413).
