Tonight the visiting KVHS Blue Knights defeated the home town Harbour View Vikings 106-58 in front of a large and supportive crowd.

The Blue Knights, playing their first game of the season, jumped out to a quick 28-12 1st quarter lead. In the 2nd quarter KVHS was able to extend their lead, but Alex Underwood exploded for 11 points in the quarter to keep HVHS within striking distance at 56-31 after 20 minutes.

The Blue Knights responded in the 3rd quarter with 32 points extending their lead to 89-44. Both teams played fairly evenly in the last quarter with KVHS winning the final frame 17-14.

Leaders for KVHS were:

  • Adam Butler with 19 pts, 4 ast, 9 rebs
  • Owen Arbeau with 13 pts
  • Jack Way with 13 pts

Leaders for HVHS were:

  • Alex Underwood with 29 pts
  • Cole Fitzgerald with 8 pts
  • Aiden Crowley with 8 pts

KVHS Player of the Game

There were many great performances on opening night especially from many of the juniors playing in their first varsity basketball, but senior point guard Adam Butler picked up where he left off last season with a solid all around game. In less than 20 minutes of playing time, Adam tallied 19 points, handed out 4 assists and grabbed 9 rebounds.

What’s Next

The next game for KVHS is Wednesday November 23 when they host Rothesay High School in the annual Rip Seely Challenge. Boys play at 6:00 pm followed by the girls at 8:00 pm. HVHS hits the court again this weekend as they head across town for the Simonds High tip-off.
