It has been a long 11 months since KVHS hosted a varsity boys basketball game but the wait is over, as they take their 2021-2022 home opener 93-46 over the visiting St. Malachy Saints.

The visitors were the more disciplined group to start the game jumping out to a quick 10-4 advantage. Following a quick timeout from the home team, KVHS finished the 1st quarter on a 20-2 run for a 24-12 lead. The Crusaders followed up that strong performance, winning 2nd quarter 22-6 to head into half time with a 46-18 advantage.

KVHS kept kept up the defensive pressure in the second half winning the 3rd quarter 31-12 and the 4th 16-14.

As was the case in the first three games of the pre-season, KVHS had a well balanced offensive attack with all 12 players hitting the scoreboard.

  • Cole DeFazio with 18 points
  • Liam McKee with 17 points
  • Adam Butler with 10 points

Leading the way offensively for St. Malachy were:
